Women's Corner - by Torchy

Hello and welcome to the female section of Above and Beyond. I am striving for this to be a very insightful section for all. Not only for the very important, sensitive and delicate females, but also the men out there searching for advice pertaining to their female counterparts.

In the upcoming months, topics such as diet, training and ever growing concern of anabolics will be mentioned. The latter I would like to talk about briefly as an introduction. Many articles state what is “safe” and what is not regarding females and anabolics. Today I tell you that nothing is exactly safe and you should proceed with caution. Education is the key. Reading, studying, asking questions of your peers is a great way to begin. However, not everyone reacts the same. Trial and error with the combination of true life experiences is the only way to honestly know.

Negative side effects are in large the greatest concern with the female. Losing femininity, voice changes, hair growth are only scratching the surface. What happens to the person on the inside? She notices a change, accepts and appreciates the change, but do those around her accept what she has done? It is hard as a female to not struggle with outside criticism. Females who do not appreciate muscle or men who “don’t like that look” often times speak their mind without thinking of how it is mentally affecting someone else. The female who has now made a change for herself, looks in the mirror and is proud now begins to feel depressed and socially unacceptable. Ladies, this is about us.

Lifting weights isn’t going to make you large. Daily cardio is not going to tone you up. Anabolics is not the answer. There is no magic formula to make you change what and who you are. That comes from within. First and foremost: are you ready to make a lifestyle change? If your answer is yes, then let’s get moving! Get off that treadmill or elliptical, move to those weights and start that change now. Tone that body. Looking at that croissant? Use your sense of smell, take in it’s freshness, and move on. Nothing works better than good old fashioned diet, weight training with some cardio. Cardio isn’t necessarily going to negate that croissant and neither is training. What will work? Proper nutrition.

So many times I have come across questions on “How can I lose bodyfat and fast?” “I need to lose weight, what can I take to make it go away?” Nothing! Re-educating yourself on diet and weight loss, training, with some cardio is your first step. So, you have been dieting and it is no longer working for you? How long have you been on this “diet?” It may be time for a change. Your body adapts and after time, you need to mix it up a bit.

With the New Year upon us, let us all strive for a better you. With healthy weight management and proper training, mentally and physically we can attain a greater well being. If you do not have these basic steps, do not speak of anabolics, clenbuterol, or T3. Again, I can not stress enough that this should not be your first step. Let us help you. Change is good. Education is your greatest weapon. Read, learn, ask…Re-introduce yourself to whom you really are.

Until Next Month,
Torchy
